NASHVILLE (WordNews.org) Oct. 1, 2011 — A new reality series featuring the popular Christian rock band, The Newsboys, is scheduled to debut on NRB Network Oct. 7.

The program, called “Mari White Presents the Newsboys,” is produced by Mari White, founder of Lady White Entertainment, and follows the group as they record and tour, giving fans a behind-the-scenes look at the band, their challenges and their faith. The program will air each Friday at 8 p.m. Eastern Time, and Saturday at 10 p.m. ET.

The channel can be seen on DIRECTV channel 378, Sky Angel channel 126 or streamed live at www.nrbnetwork.tv.

The Newsboys are among the most successful Christian bands with 25 No.1 hit singles and an array of music awards. Of the group’s 14 albums since its founding in 1986, six have gone gold, NRB said. A new worship album entitled God’s Not Dead is set for release on November 15th.

The Newsboys have had a lot of changes in recent years. In 2009, veteran members — Jeff Frankenstein (keyboard), Jody Davis (guitar) and Duncan Phillips (drums) — welcomed Grammy award-winning artist Michael Tait of dcTalk to the band after lead singer Peter Furler transitioned from touring to focus on writing and producing for the group.
With the new series, viewers will get to know each member in revealing way.
Frankenstein, a Newsboy since 1994, said he’s excited about the project.
“Over the years, our fans have seen small glimpses of our offstage moments, but now, we are so excited to share over 5 hours of exclusive, never before seen footage. Our fans will get a chance to hear more about our hearts, our families, and our ministry,” he said.
NRB Network is a non-commercial, public interest television channel that airs on DIRECTV channel 378, SkyAngel channel 126 and via online video streaming.
