David’s Tent launches 40 days of prayer and worship at the White House

WASHINGTON, D.C. (WordNews.org) Aug. 31, 2012 – David’s Tent DC, an event for Christians to congregate on White House grounds to continuously worship Jesus, kicks off Sept. 25 and runs through Election Day, Nov. 6.
“We are very excited about this time in David’s Tent,” said director of the Washington House of Prayer, Jason Hershey. “Before America ever goes into the polls to vote for the leadership of this country, we want to first enthrone Jesus on our praises continuously for 40 days. Jesus is the King of kings and Lord of lords.
“Like King David established, worship will be next to the seat of government,” Hershey added.
Hershey said the event is not focused on praying specifically for the elections or the future of America, although those issues are important.
“The heart of God is found in worship and knowing our victory in Jesus and the Kingdom He preached,” Hershey said. “These fundamentals are a cause for celebration. So, that is what it is really about. God seeks those who worship in Spirit and in Truth, so we hope to be discovered at David’s Tent.”
