WINTER PARK, Fla.. (WordNews.org) April 11, 2012 — John Thompson has retired as executive director of Kairos Prison Ministry International. He served the ministry for 11 years.
Kairos has named Thomas Kemner the interim executive director. The ministry is conducting a search for a permanent executive director.
Kemner has been a consultant for the ministry for the past year, specifically in the areas of major gift fundraising and strategic planning. He has more than 30 years experience in nononprofit leadership.
Thompson began planning for his retirement last fall.
“For the past year, I have enjoyed working with Kairos,” Kemner said. “Its most impressive feature is the thousands of dedicated volunteers, who sacrifice on a weekly basis to offer hope to the hopeless.”
