U.S. senators petitioned to support Iranian pastor

WASHINGTON, D.C. (WordNews.org) June 18, 2012 – The American Center for Law and Justice has launched a petition urging U.S. Senators to call for Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani’s release.
Nadarkhani received a death sentence in February for converting to Christianity, leading to an international outcry for his immediate release.
It is ACLJ’s second petition on Nadarkhani’s behalf.

Update: The Senate Foreign Relations Committee unanimously passed a resolution of support for Pastor Youcef yesterday. Now Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to being asked to allow the entire Senate to vote on Pastor Youcef’s resolution.

A key U.S. Senate committee is voting on a resolution of support for Pastor Youcef tomorrow. ACLJ has received nearly 112,000 signatures so far asking the Senate to unanimously pass the resolution.
Nadarkhani was arrested in 2009.
