Die-In-694x1024WASHINGTON, D.C. (WordNews.org) Jan. 24, 2017 – A group of young activists are expected to “die” in front of the White House this Friday to “hold President Donald Trump accountable” to his promise to defund Planned Parenthood, the country’s largest abortion provider.

The group, CEC For Life, an outreach of the Charismatic Episcopal Church, is organizing the event, which starts at 9:30 on Jan. 27.

According to organizers, 100 young people will peacefully demonstrate their stance against abortion and especially federally funded abortion by appearing dead on the ground in front of the White House.

The group will assume a fetal position and cover themselves with red cloth while others hold signs reading: “They are lying down in a fetal position, identifying themselves with the preborn.”

“The purpose of this outreach is to communicate through a striking visual to spectators, including the President, and to allow the participants to identify with their defenseless preborn brothers and sisters in a really tangible way,” said Father Terry Gensemer, director of CEC For Life. “Young people have told us again and again that this event is one of the most encouraging and impacting activities they participate in during the March For Life.”

Yesterday, President Trump signed an executive order to defund International Planned Parenthood in regard to United States’ “Mexico City Policy,” which was named for a 1984 population conference where former President Ronald Reagan announced a policy that would fund only those groups that do not conduct abortions for lobby foreign nations to overturn their anti-abortion laws.

In his memorandum, Trump wrote: “I further direct the Secretary of State to take all necessary actions, to the extent permitted by law, to ensure that U.S. taxpayer dollars do not fund organizations or programs that support or participate in the management of a program of coercive abortion or involuntary sterilization.”

Anti-abortion groups are expecting Congress to pass a bill that would defund Planned Parenthood’s domestic corporation. When former President Barack Obama was in office, he overturned a policy that prevented the funding of organizations that performed or promoted abortions internationally.

Sarah Jimenez, 23, plans to participate in the Die-In.

“So many people my age want to see a change but can’t figure out how to make it. This is how,” said Jimenez, communications director of Created Equal. “By sacrificing our own dignity for the sake of another’s. Breaking windows and burning trash cans will never bring unity. Prayerfully lying down in solidarity with my preborn brothers and sisters just might. We hope President Trump sees this demonstration and remembers his promises.”

Star Parker of Urbancure says participants will be traveling from across the country to join in the protest.

“This generation is overwhelmingly pro-life, their numbers are growing, and they’re ready to see this administration cease the funding of abortion today, right now,” Parker said.

Other organizations joining in the event include: Urbancure, Latinos Por La Vida, Christian Defense Coalition, The Radiance Foundation, Survivors of the Abortion Holocaust, Issues4Life Foundation, Stanton Healthcare, Operation Rescue and Pro-Life Action Ministries.
