CAPE TOWN, Africa (WordNews.org) Feb. 28, 2012 – GOD TV opened its first African office here nearly 11 years ago.

It soon began broadcasting across the continent via satellite. Today, it can be seen in more than 50 African countries. Broadcasts have included live events such as Angus Buchan’s Mighty Men’s Conference that draws hundreds of thousands of men.

Three years ago, GOD TV opened an office in Kenya, which just launched KISS TV to reach another 4 million viewers.

GOD TV also has been involved in charitable outreaches in Africa, from feeding hundreds of school children in South Africa through Jesus Cares Ministries, to assisting with a hydro-electric project in Zambia and drilling for clean water in Tanzania.

To commemorate the more than 10 years in Africa, GOD TV is airing 14 Behind the Screens Africa Specials featuring GOD TV CEO Rory Alec that will air during the next few months.

The specials will feature a five-nation trip to Africa and include a production crew reaching the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro.

“GOD TV is committed to making a difference in Africa as we reach further across the African continent,” Alec said. “There is great poverty, but there is also great potential amongst the people of Africa. We will continue to expand the reach of the GOD Channel, switching on more homes as we look forward to the next 10 years.”
