KANSAS CITY, Mo. (WordNews.org) March 6, 2012 – Geneva Vollrath is stepping down as president and CEO of Stonecroft Ministries at the end of April, the board announced today.

Vollrath will participate in the upcoming Call To Me prayer event April 24-28.

“Our commitment to the mission, to God Himself, is expressed and cultivated through prayer. There is no more important work for a Christian, no more valuable effort for a Christian organization, no more critical leadership, than prayer,” Vollrath said. She said she is looking forward to spending time with her family in Florida.

Stonecroft is now working to identify Vollrath’s replacement.

Stonecroft lists its mission as equipping and encouraging women to impact their communities with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

In the past seven years, Vollrath helped establish the Military Ministry, Cross Cultural Ministry, the introduction of Town Halls to connect with volunteers, the appointment of divisional field directors, and a global, live streaming online event, Impact ’10 ~ Stir.

Vollrath played a role in helping leaders and volunteers minister in the current culture, across generations and platforms.

“Geneva helped Stonecroft Ministries move forward with crucial, difficult decisions,” said Vera Velk, chair of the Board of Directors. “Her leadership, focus, and care for the mission of Stonecroft were vital to where we are now and where this ministry will advance in the future.”

Stonecroft is 74 years old. It has thousands of volunteers leading efforts in Outreach Groups and Bible studies in the U.S. and in 65 countries.
