Forgo.it, Children’s Hunger Fund launch Fast2Feed campaign

LOS ANGELES (WordNews.org) Aug. 20, 2012 – Forgo.it and Children’s Hunger Fund are joining together to send food to Zimbabwe.
Beginning today, smartphone users can donate money to the Fast2Feed campaign using Forgo.it’s mobile giving technology. The campaign runs through Aug. 26.
For one week in August, “forgoers” are raising funds to help CHF ship a sea-container filled with aid to Zimbabwe. Six meals will be donated per dollar donated. So, if someone fasts a $10 dinner, 62 meals will be shipped.
“We believe people want to do something radical with their resources,” said Scott Pentzer, cofounder of Forgo.it. “Now we’re giving them the opportunity to fast for a meal to help feed hungry kids in Zimbabwe.”
Fred Martin, director of CHF, said people should consider fasting more than a meal.
“If someone forgoes a boat, maybe someone else will forgo a car or a house,” he said.
