WASHINGTON, D.C. (WordNews.org) Sept. 8, 2012 – The Republican and Democratic national conventions are now over.
But there is still nearly two months until election day, though 70 percent of all voters say they can’t wait for the election to be over too, according to a Gallup poll.
With that backdrop, Thomas Nelson Bibles is launching its own campaign called UPWORD 2012, found on Twitter with the hash tag #UPWORD2012. It is sponsored by Thomas Nelson’s charitable giving program, God’s Word In Action, found on Twitter @GodsWordnAction.
“Our UPWORD 2012 campaign offers anti-anxiety meditation in the form of daily Bible verses of assurance during this potentially discordant time in America,” said Blake Aldridge, Thomas Nelson’s senior director of marketing. “Our hope is that, through these verses and beautiful nature photos, people will remember God is ultimately in control.”
Visitors to the UPWORD 2012 website — http://seegodswordinaction.com/UPWORD2012 – can view a PowerPoint presentation consisting of vivid, original color photography of serene nature scenes combined with Scripture verses from the new Bible translation The Voice, as well as the New King James Version and King James Version.
“We invite bloggers, Pinterest pinners, and everyone to broadly share these encouraging and inspiring verses leading up to the election,” Aldridge said.
The main purpose behind God’s Word In Action is to play a role in eradicating global and domestic poverty.
Thomas Nelson Inc. is the world’s largest Christian publisher.
