hobbylobbyOKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (WordNews.org) Jan. 8, 2013 – More than 100,000 people have signed a petition in support of Hobby Lobby, a Christian, family-owned retail chain that is facing mounting fines for refusing to comply with aspects of Obamacare.
According to Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council, Hobby Lobby faces daily fines of $1.3 million for its refusal to comply with providing coverage for the morning after (abortion-inducing) pill. To date, the Green family has accumulated $10.4 million in fines. [To read about Hobby Lobby].
“Unless the courts intervene, the company can expect to accumulate fines totaling nearly a half a billion dollars,” Perkins said. “Rather than violate their consciences, the Greens have chosen to disobey this unjust government mandate.”
Perkins is urging American Christians to show the Obama administration “that our principles cannot be bought.”
