Quarter of Americans Say Candidate Must Share Their Views on Abortion

GallWASHINGTON, D.C. (WordNews.org) July 7, 2020 — A new Gallup show shows that 24 percent of those polled “will vote only for a candidate who shares their views on the issue” of abortion.

In the pro-life camp, 30 percent are single-issue voters compared with 19 percent who support abortion rights.

Meanwhile, another 47 percent of those surveyed said abortion is one of several issues they are focused on this election and 25 percent said it is not a major issue at all.

Gallup said attitudes toward abortion have been fairly stable for the past decade, with pro-life and abortion rights supporters nearly evenly divided.

Issues that Americans feel are the most important now related to coronavirus and race relations.
