VENTURA, Calif. (WordNews.org) August 19, 2012 –  Women overwhelmingly say they are pleased with their experiences at church and the leadership opportunities they have.
According to the latest Barna Group survey, 73 percent of the women surveyed said they are making the most of their gifts, and 72 percent said they are involved in meaningful ministry.
Beyond that, 59 percent said they had substantial influence in their church and 55 percent said they expected that influence to grow.
Still, a sizable minority (31 percent) said they are frustrated by the lack of opportunities they have and feel resigned to low expectations, and 20 percent feel under utilized.
The Ventura, Calif-based pollster said women are just as likely to consider themselves leaders as men (a third) whether at church (52 percent), on the job (31 percent), at home (29 percent) or in the community (28 percent).
Nearly half of the women surveyed (49 percent) considered themselves servants, participating in such activities as praying (46 percent), encouraging others (24 percent), helping the needy (24 percent), sharing the gospel (23 percent) and volunteering at church (21 percent).
A large majority (73 percent) said they should be doing more to serve God.
